Rakaa Power and Water Company

Rakaa Saudi Power and Water Co. established in 1424H/ 2003G to meet the growing needs for desalinated water and to provide electric power. The company is specialized in seawater medium and small desalination plants with multi-technologies. It also operates in supply of different generators and implementation of fixed and mobile electric power stations in addition to all relevant electrical works related to such power stations.

Rakaa Saudi Power and Water Co. has witnessed a vast development in work volume and entered into joint venture agreements with leading international power and water companies to provide the best and quality services in these fields. The company had executed and is currently implementing a number of power and water contracts and projects, for various government sectors. These contracts include supply of desalinated water being pumped into the targeted stations' networks besides supply of generators of different types and sizes as well as quality power plants. The company has gained considerable experience through implementing several projects.  Rakaa also dedicates itself to attracting national qualifications and endeavoring to train and develop them,

Company Affiliates and Products:

The Company adopted the idea of The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) regarding construction of a medium-power desalination plant on floating platforms to provide desalinated water to the Western Region at the time. This unprecedented theme which had neither been tested nor applied in the entire world with this envisaged capacity, was applauded and encouraged by SWCC.  Accordingly Rakaa Saudi Power and Water Co. was awarded the first contract for the supply of (50.000) fifty thousand cubic meters of desalinated water per day to be produced by the floating barges. Then Rakaa Saudi Power and Water Co sold part of its stake to a Saudi company and the stakeholders agreed to name their joint company as (International Bowarege Company for Water Desalination Ltd (Bowarege). Now, Rakaa Saudi Power and Water Co own 35% of Bowarege Company, which was established to implement the project of the floating water desalination barges.

Today International Bowarege Company for Water Desalination Ltd owns two floating barges each of them containing independent and integrated desalination plant, with production capacity of (25.000) twenty five thousand cubic meters of desalinated water per day making the total output of the two barges (50.000) fifty thousand cubic meters of desalinated water per day. The two Barges are the biggest floating desalination plants all over the world and they were designed, constructed and operated by Saudi qualified team.
